About Me

Alyssa Slansky, LMFT

I am a New York State Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with over 30 years of experience working in the field of mental health. I work with children, adolescents, individuals and couples. My areas of clinical focus include: anxiety, relationship and marital therapy, couples communication and childhood issues. I often employ evidence-based mindfulness techniques to help reduce stress and treat symptoms of anxiety and depression. I have advanced training in the Mindful Schools curriculum, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and I am a YAI Certified Mindfulness Educator for Children.

I am extremely passionate about helping people recognize their fullest potential and I use eclectic and integrative techniques to help my clients achieve their goals. I provide a non-judgmental, collaborative, supportive and empowering environment for self-exploration and change.

I specialize in helping people eliminate negative thought cycles, increase positive coping skills, and decrease stress. I encourage my clients to become active participants in the therapeutic process and to create opportunities for themselves that lead to life enhancing change.

In addition to being a prominent relationship therapist, I have presented to many general audiences speaking on the topics of anxiety, mindfulness, relationships and parenting.
